MY STORY
THIS IS ME

1996
Born in Mauritius, my childhood was a blend of joy and challenge.
Raised by hard-working parents, we faced real issues in an underdeveloped country. Meals weren’t always lavish if not scarce, and electricity was often a game of who could make their candle last the longest. Yet, I never went without.
My dad was strict but always led with love, and as for my mom, let’s just say I’m one lucky daughter.

I moved to the UK with 4 english words to my vocabulary.
Still mesmerised by my new quality of life, I’ll never forget returning from Tesco and filling our fridge to the brim with food. Next thing I knew, we had our very own computer! My first bike! Pocket money! Toys! Cool clothes that I would spend hours in charity shops proudly picking out!
Everything was otherworldly to me and it took a lot of adapting but I found my way.

2012
Sweet sixteen with two years left of high school and having just lost my dad, I started to pave my path towards adulthood while navigating through a rapidly deteriorating mental health.
From waitressing after school for a whopping £3.25 an hour, attending a weekly internship, and buying my first car on eBay for £500, to opening my first savings account and training myself in graphic design… I did what I had to do. The journey has been rough and has tested my strength, but one way or another, I fought to keep moving forward.

2017
Juggling a Business Management course at Uni with full-time waitressing, the lectures quickly became tedious hours of rehashed information so it was time to re-strategise.
While others graduated, I landed my first professional job as a Business Development Executive, attending the interview just 24 hours after a bad car accident. I'd invested my blood (literally!), sweat, and tears to reach this point, so allowing this opportunity to slip away was simply not an option.

2019
Realising I couldn't ignore my desperate desire to pursue creative work, this was the year I risked it all—a short-term sacrifice for long-term gain.
I returned to hospitality—a job where I could clock out and focus my newfound free time on enhancing my graphic design skills and make a name for myself.
Whether it was free Adobe courses, 9-hour YouTube tutorials, or the classic 'fmylifeeeefinal_newfinal_v2.psd' saving marathon until it was, in fact, final and perfect—I exhausted every resource I could!

2020
Just as I was getting fired up to hang up my apron and shift into creative roles, the COVID pandemic hit, bringing everything to a halt.
Needless to say, this stopped me right in my tracks, but above all, I was grateful to still have a job, unlike many others. It allowed me to pause and no longer feel rushed against time especially when doing freelance gigs on the side.

2021
Combining my marketing and graphic design expertise, I became the Head of Socials for a marketing agency, managing a team of graphic designers, videographers, and copywriters.
At last, I could feel my creative juices flowing again. However, as the agency began to take different directions for growth, it was the perfect timing to dive into what has always felt like a calling: starting my own venture!

2022
I launched Social Lounge, an independent social media management service to carry forward the momentum from my previous job role.
Through networking, relationship building and the wonderful referrals of happy clients, I quickly amassed a strong client base and soon enough, requests for graphic design projects and video content began pouring in.

2023
Having built a strong reputation and narrowing my specialisation to graphic design and UGC creation, I wanted to embrace the authenticity of representing myself, my services, and my expertise simply as... me, Esh—the individual my clients have formed a meaningful working relationship with.
2024 brings forth more exciting endeavors including the launch of my podcast, online store and at last... my permanent move to Australia!
